MLK Health Center Receives CVS Health Foundation Grant

The grant has been awarded as part of the CVS Health Foundation’s commitment to address the need for more accessible, coordinated health care in our local communities. The grant will support MLK Health Center’s diabetes and cardiovascular disease programs.

“The grant we’re receiving from the CVS Health Foundation will help us in our continued effort to reduce overall health care costs and improve patient care outcomes for those in our local community,” said Janet Mentesane, Executive Director for MLK. “We are honored to receive this grant which will help ensure that we can support patients in Shreveport and surrounding parishes who are looking for accessible, neighborhood health care options.”

Over the past four years, the Foundation has donated nearly $5 million to increase access to quality care and support the management of chronic disease.

“Our support has yielded significant results over the past four years that demonstrate how increased access to quality care and innovative approaches to chronic disease management can affect the lives of the most vulnerable Americans,” said Eileen Howard Boone, president of the CVS Health Foundation.
