One in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Unfortunately, Louisiana has the 3rd highest breast cancer death rate in the country (Louisiana Cancer Prevention).
We know early cancer screenings and detection are critical to surviving breast cancer. In fact, early detection can increase survival rates to nearly 100%. Yet, women in Louisiana are dying from breast cancer due to a lack of preventative screenings. (Louisiana Cancer Prevention)
For the last 12 years, MLK Health has provided uninsured women with screening mammograms and well-woman exams at no cost to them because we believe every woman should have access to life-saving screenings.
Today, we need your help.
Our Women’s Health Program needs your support in order to continue providing life-saving mammograms to uninsured women in Northwest Louisiana.
On March 8th, International Women’s Day, we’re asking our supporters to honor the women in their life with a $50 donation that will provide a life-saving mammogram to an uninsured woman in our community.
Help us build a community where no mother, sister, daughter, or aunt is ever forced to forgo her annual screening mammogram due to a lack of resources.
